From snow covered Denmark to sunny and warm Sicily…. The woman in this story finds that Sicily is certainly a cure for her doldrums and hopefully for many of her personal problems.. It’s there that her son .Ole, learns to overcome his adversity to school as he discovers a completely new lifestyle. His mother home schools him and finds that he desires to learn new and interesting things, from growing plants to seeing a real volcano.
Their new friend, Ray, is always there to help the, show them around and give them new impulses for living.
The author, an experienced educator, describes her child as ADHD, (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and at the end of this book gives many suggestions for helping children who are suffering from this disorder. She mentions her book, Homeschooling is Fun, which shows how this new educational alternative is valid. She adds valuable insights to aid parents in understanding their ADHD children.
